One of the great friends of the Altona Forest was honoured with the City of Pickering Environmental Award. Congratulations to Doug Lockrey!

Animals Visit Lacey's Pond (Post Date : May 2, 2007)

These photos were taken by Larry Noonan. They were taken in late April 2007. We can see some animals are now enjoying the newly created Lacey's pond. The pond was created by adding a berm to allow water to form this natural pond near the centre of the forest area.

Upcoming Altona Forest Stewardship Meetings (Post Date : April 30, 2007)

The meetings for the first half of 2007 are completed. However if you are interested please join us for the upcoming meetings which commence in the fall. The dates are:

1. October 15, 2007
2. Jaunary 21, 2008
3. April 21, 2008

All meetings start at 6:30PM and are held at St. Elizabeth Steon school on the north west corner of Stroud's and Rosebank in Pickering, Ontario. We usually meet in the library.

Forest Folk in the Forest (Post Date : March 11, 2007)

While hiking in the Altona Forest these forest folk were discovered. They consented to having their picture taken. This shot was taken by Larry Noonan on February 22, 2007.
